Sue

I am a retired civil servant living in NE Hampshire in the UK. I have been happily engaged for 16 years to Roy, living 2 miles apart from each other! In April 2015 he contracted encephalitis which has resulted in him having a partially paralysed right hand and short term memory loss. As a result after 4 months in hospital and rehab he has had to move in with me as he cannot live on his own any more. So we have decided to finally tie the knot in October. I have three sons and two grandsons, which is why I need male cards, and will soon have a stepdaughter.

I have crafted for most of my life, starting with knitting, when I made myself a jumper from a pattern in Girl magazine. I was about 13 and we were living in Malta so I knitted with a tin of talc beside me to put on my hands when they got too hot! Later I tried crochet and dressmaking and even later machine knitting and cross stitch. I started paper crafting in 2006 when I retired. I had noticed all the paper crafting stuff at craft shows and wondered what all the fuss was about, so bought a magazine and a small kit to have a go. I still wasn't convinced but then I saw Jayne Nestorenko demoing on Create and Craft  and that was it - I was hooked!

Please say hello to two new members
of our Design Team.

Debbie Mageed

I began paper-crafting in 1998 after I “retired” to raise my two youngest children, doing memory-keeping, and then started stamping a few years later. These have been my creative outlet through all stages of my children's lives. I am married to my husband, Aly, for 29 years and have four beautiful adult kids, Michael, Holly, Adam and Sarah. Moving a few times in the early years of my husband’s career, we finally settled in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2003. My interests have varied over the years with a few crafts beyond stamping and memory keeping, with photography, reading and travel also thrown in the mix. I also stay involved in interfaith activities and volunteer work. With my youngest child now away at college, it is a great time to be creative, and do something I truly love.  My biggest interest will always be my family and will always be grateful that they are a part of my life.

Crafting is more than just a hobby for me, it's a huge part of my life. Scrapbooking is my first love, but I also make a ton of cards. My favorite crafting items are metal dies, stamps, and cut files for electronic cutters. Happy to be a part of this great challenge blog team. Hope you'll play along with us each challenge.
